Florent Pagny once again talks about his illness and his relationship with life, explaining that he has difficulty projecting himself today since the cards are reshuffled every three months. The artist nevertheless remains positive.
With his album of duets 2Bis, Florent Pagny signed one of the biggest musical successes of the end of 2023. Just as he had already seduced with his autobiography Pagny by Florent published in the spring and which directly established itself at the top of sales among booksellers. The artist, now 62 years old, is used to the podiums, but he believes that the links with the public are now stronger since he revealed that he had a lung canceralmost two years ago, and while he regularly gives news of his fight against illness.
This is essentially what he explained in the columns of Sunday Newspaperinterviewed on the occasion of the usual list of Favorite French personalities published by the weekly at the start of the year. “I don’t know if it’s due to what people see of my illness but I see that emotions are much stronger now in the public”he says, remembering the faces he discovered every evening during his summer festival tour last year. “It’s so funny, these emotions are heightened tenfold. I had never experienced such intensity“he insists.

Florent Pagny completely understands this relationship although he only has one “position of observer who describes what he experiences”. For him, the “people need to cling to a model”. “We all have different paths, but we all have in common that we are dependent on treatments, on protocols that we hope will work well. You have to be directly affected by this problem to understand it. We are entering another dimension . Even our loved ones cannot feel it completely”he says, serenely, undoubtedly referring to his wife Azucena Caamañobefore nevertheless recalling that the fight is still far from won.
