‘It’s time to tell the truth’: publisher PQube faces new accusation

These last three years have been difficult for us. We’ve struggled to recover since we signed a publishing deal with PQube. But now it’s time to tell the truth. We hope this helps other indie game developers avoid what happened to us and let our fans know about our situation.

PQube has been publishing AeternoBlade II on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Europe since October 2019 under a publishing deal with us and has agreed to pay us a minimum warranty. However, PQube only paid a small portion of this minimum guarantee at the time we sent them the game and they never paid the other milestones. We tried to solve this problem with PQube, but we were unable to find a solution, which led us to terminate the publishing contract around September 2020. However, PQube refused to return control of the game to us. console edition and continues to sell and take all revenue from AeternoBlade II.

PQube offered to return publishing control to us only if we agreed to keep this matter secret, but we did not want to be involved in any further deals with PQube. We knew something was wrong, but as a small indie developer, we couldn’t afford to pay legal fees to defend our case in another country. We have contacted each platform to request the return of our edit control. So far, only Nintendo and Sony have removed our game from their stores in Europe, and we still haven’t received any revenue from sales in Europe.

Due to this incident, we had to carry out various additional works to recover from our financial situation. We promise we’ll be back soon to fix issues and continue releasing new content for AeternoBlade II. We are always grateful to everyone who has supported us. We want everyone to have fun with our game and be happy with our product. We hope our fans understand our situation and that you will continue to support us.
