it’s up to you to designate the winner of our photo contest

Furry, scaly or feathered, you have one week to vote for your favorite animal photo.

New fortnight, new edition of the Frandroid photo contest. After the first two competitions, on the theme of the sun and music, won respectively by Jules and Renaud, we are now moving on to animals for the theme of this third edition.

Calf, cow, pig, insect, bird, dog, cat, fish or snake, you had a week to send us your most beautiful animal photos. And you responded largely present, with more than 50 photos sent. Among these fifty photos, Frandroid’s editorial staff selected four finalists: photos of Yohan, Stéphanie, Jean Pierre and Clément.

Photo of Yohan: Leya

Contrary to appearances, this photo was taken in daylight without a black background. I just reduced the brightness of the device and put a flash. The photo of my dog (Leya) was taken on 35mm with my Nikon D5600, the exposure reworked with Lightroom.

Stephanie’s photo: cat

I took the photo with my Oppo Find x2 Lite of my neighbour’s cat under the rusty balcony divider while I was playing with him with a string. I retouched the photo with the Adobe Photoshop tool, taking up detail on the eyes and deliberately saturated the rust well, because I thought it was an important and major element of the photo.

Photo by Jean Pierre: griffon vulture

Please find attached a photo that I am submitting to the contest you are proposing. This photo is taken with a Nikon D850 body and a Sigma lens with a focal length of 185 mm. I only worked on the colorimetry and a slight crop with the Capture One software. The bird you see is a griffon vulture, the shot was taken during a hike in the Atlantic Pyrenees.

Clement’s Photo: Nazca

I saw two articles about your photo contests and I thought it was an opportunity to participate in a contest for once. For some context, the photo was taken in Villers sur Mer in Normandy last summer with a sunset to die for. On the photo you will find Nazca, a Cavalier King Charles who was 4 years old when the photo was taken, but she left us at the beginning of the year. The title of the photo simply bears his name: Nazca. It was taken with an Oppo Find X3 Pro and did not undergo any editing except for a slight color touch-up. Hoping you enjoy the shot!
