Charlotte Gainsbourg and her mother, Jane Birkin, are back on the front of the stage with the release, on January 12, of a documentary entitled Jane by Charlotte. In full promotion of this feature film, Serge Gainsbourg’s daughter was the subject of the portrait of the week in the show Seven to eight, broadcast on TF1 this Sunday, January 2. Yvan Attal’s partner made touching and intimate confidences on the relationship she had with the interpreter of Javanese.

For the purposes of the documentary, the mother and daughter returned to the house on rue de Verneuil in Paris, where Serge Gainsbourg lived. A sequence that was not easy to shoot for Charlotte Gainsbourg, as she confided to Audrey Crespo-Mara:It’s very painful because I open the door on a moment of life that I had so happy, so carefree … When I went there, I was protected from everything. I was under his protection. It was quite magical ”, she said.

Thirty years after the singer’s death, Charlotte Gainsbourg, who was only 19 at the time, keeps a very fond memory of her relationship with her father. If she describes him as someone from “Very modest”, who never told him “I love you” or never gave him a hug, Serge Gainsbourg was still very loving with his daughter. “I felt like I had a favorite place with my father. It is moments of unconditional love. I think that it couldn’t have made me happier, she says today.
