Elon Musk buys Twitter. Co-founder Jack Dorsey sees this as the right path for the short message service.

For Jack Dorsey (45), the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk (50) is “the right way”. The co-founder of the short message service announced this after the mega deal of 44 billion US dollars became known.

“I love Twitter”, writes Dorsey on duty. According to him, nothing comes closer to “global awareness” than Twitter. The platform and the idea behind it are all that is important to him. Therefore, the 45-year-old wants to do everything to protect them. “Twitter as a business has always been my only problem and my biggest regret,” Dorsey continues. It was therefore dominated by Wall Street and an advertising model. Snatching it from Wall Street, as Musk plans, is “the correct first step.”

Nobody should own Twitter

Basically, Dorsey believes that no one should own or control Twitter. In his opinion, only Musk can solve the problem that there is a company behind the platform. “This is the right way,” the co-founder continues. And he believes that with all his heart.

Dorsey resigned as Twitter boss in November. Musk, in turn, has been an active user himself for years and currently has more than 85 million followers on the short message service. The entrepreneur explains in a statementthat freedom of expression is “the basis of a functioning democracy” and that Twitter is a central place where things are discussed that are “crucial for the future of mankind”.
