Jacqueline Avant, the wife of music legend Clarence Avant, was shot dead by a burglar in Beverly Hills.
Clarence Avant (90) mourns his wife: Jacqueline Avant (81), with whom the music legend was married since 1967, fell victim to a violent crime according to US media reports. She was shot dead by a burglar in her Beverly Hills home on Wednesday, it says among other things with “Variety”.

Jacqueline Avant was known for her charitable work. She was senselessly murdered in a burglary last night. This is the saddest day of our lives.” Musician Stevie Wonder (71) also said on a radio show that he was “heartbroken”.
Tyler Perry, 52, wrote on Twitter, his heart was broken: “This world can be so cruel and cold! I have no idea what kind of monster an 81-year-old woman could shoot in her own home,” said the actor.
