James Blunt: The British star rocks the Elbphilharmonie without an audience

As part of the "Telekom Street Gigs" concert series, British superstar James Blunt (46, "Back To Bedlam") is performing this evening in a special concert location – but without an audience. On March 11th from 9 p.m. the singer in the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg should have performed hits like "You're Beautiful", "Carry You Home" or "1973" in front of around 2,000 guests. But the current situation around the corona virus led to a spontaneous change of plans: The concert can only be viewed digitally via livestream.

Blunt was very much looking forward to the exclusive show: "I was really looking forward to the evening with my fans. But the health of all the guests and everyone involved is the most important thing. So I'm glad that we have the opportunity to do so anyway play fantastic location and that all viewers can be there via the free livestream of Telekom ", he explained in a press release.

Concerts from the couch – or in autumn

Tickets for the exclusive event could not be bought in advance, but could only be obtained through a competition. Now both winners and other fans can use the free MagentaMusik 360 livestream or additionally tune in to Germany on MagenaTV.

With the modern architecture and the much discussed sound quality, Blunt will bring his album "Once Upon A Mind", released in 2019, to the stage. The "Street Gigs" are not bringing Telekom and Blunt together for the first time. Already in 2004 the telecommunications company chose a song by the singer for a commercial with "High".

Some football matches take place in empty stadiums, musician Carlos Santana (72) canceled his two concerts in Germany, several stars such as Andrea Berg (54) and Max Giesinger (31) postponed the dates.
