During the promotion of “Avatar: The Way of the Water”, James Cameron gave some information on the third part of his saga, scheduled for the end of 2024. An “Avatar 3” in which there will be Na’vi. .. bad guys !
Avatar: The Waterway is a hit around the world, with an impressive global box office. But the adventures on Pandora are not yet over, with a third part already in box, whose theatrical release in France is already scheduled for December 18, 2024.
But what will it be about, this Avatar 3? If we logically know nothing of the details of the scenario, we learn however that James Cameron will unveil Na’vi different from those that the public got to know in the first two films.
In an interview recently granted to our colleagues from 20 Minutes, the Canadian director reveals what to expect for the sequels. “To different cultures than those I have already shown. The fire will be represented by the “Ash People”, the “People of the ashes”he says.
And Cameron to reveal that the Na’vi will not all be nice anymore. “I want to reveal the Na’vi from another angle because, for now, I have only shown their good sides”launches the 68-year-old filmmaker. “In the early movies, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples. In Avatar 3, we’ll do the reverse.”
James Cameron wants to do “Avatar 6” and “Avatar 7”, but on two conditions…
Avatar 3 will therefore show the dark side of some Na’vi. But that’s not all. “We will also explore new universes while continuing the story of the main characters”completes Cameron at the microphone of 20 Minutes.
“I can say that the last parts will be the best”he concludes. “The others were an introduction, a way to set the table before serving the meal. But, obviously, everything will depend on how Avatar 2 is received, if it finds its audience.” We can safely say that things are off to a good start…
