Jamie Foxx: Biopic about Mike Tyson is finally being realized

Boxer Mike Tyson (53) caused many scandals during and after his career. Now his eventful life is being filmed. Production planning for the biopic announced in 2014 with Jamie Foxx (52, "Collateral") in the leading role is said to have picked up speed. The actor revealed this in Mark Birnbaum's Instagram live series "Catching Up". "A very clear 'yes'", Foxx emphasized when asked whether the film would be realized. It is very difficult to make film biographies, Foxx continues. "It takes some 20 years to complete, but we got the ball rolling." The 52-year-old is already training hard.

In order to be able to portray the boxer at the height of his career, he goes through a strict training program, says Foxx. "I do 60 pull-ups, 60 dips and 100 push-ups every other day," said the actor, jokingly: "I don't have calf muscles, so we may need to use a prosthesis for it." With the film he wanted to portray the "different lives" of Mike Tyson. "We want to show that everyone evolves. If we give Mike Tyson this complexity, everyone will be able to understand this man's journey."
