Jamie Lynn Spears became pregnant when she was 16 years old. Her young pregnancy is said to have destroyed her relationship with her father, as new excerpts from her book “Things I Should Have Said” now show.
Britney Spears has been in the headlines lately because of her guardianship dispute with father Jamie Spears, 69. But her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, 30, is said not to have a good relationship with her father either. In her new book, she writes that as a teenager she “went through hell” when her parents tried to urge her to have an abortion. “People” released an excerpt from their autobiography “Things I Should Have Said” on Tuesday (November 9th), in which further terrifying details about Jamie Lynn’s relationship with her father come to light.

Jamie Lynn was 16 years old when she was pregnant with their daughter Maddie Aldridge, now 13. I stood in his way and shouted, ‘NO! I’m not going.’ I ran away from them, panting with anger, “says Jamie Lynn, describing her dramatic struggle in order not to have to give up her child.
She was not allowed to tell her sister Britney about the pregnancy
She should even keep her pregnancy a secret from her sister Britney, because it was “too risky to tell Britney about the baby.” “I needed her more than ever and she was unable to help me during my most vulnerable time,” says Jamie Lynn. “I joined what my team told me because I was a minor and didn’t want to cause any more problems,” she continues. “Britney found out about the pregnancy when the article was published. The pain of not being able to tell my sister myself continues to this day,” she adds.
But Jamie Lynn prevailed in the end and gave birth to Maddie, now 13, in 2008. But she was hidden together with her mother in a hut in the US state of Connecticut, until in June 2008 the birth of her child was announced exclusively in “OK!” magazine. Maddie’s father is her ex Casey Aldridge, 32. She also has a three-year-old daughter, Ivey, with her husband, Jamie Watson, 39. The couple has been married since 2014.
