In an exclusive interview with GALA, Jana Ina not only reveals the creative inspiration behind the designs, but also reveals her personal beauty secrets that make her naturally shine.
Inspired by Brazil: That’s what lies behind the design of your new collection
For Jana Ina, sunglasses are more than just fashion accessories. “I think sunglasses are much more than just an accessory. They are a statement and usually reflect your personality.”

In this year’s collection, Jana Ina receives support from her husband Giovanni, who stylishly demonstrates his Italian roots with his first eyewear collection. “You can’t have an Italian without sunglasses – there’s no more perfect match,” jokes the model. Together, the couple was inspired by many years of experience, preferences and style icons such as Sophia Loren. “Working with my husband is always nice. We enjoy it because it gives us a lot of time together,” enthuses Jana Ina.
Jana Ina Zarrella: Natural beauty and authenticity
For Jana Ina, authenticity is what defines true beauty. This belief is also reflected in her personal appearance. On Instagram she also shows herself without make-up and deals with the pressure of beauty. “To be honest, I don’t feel any pressure. I think serenity comes with the years and inner contentment. Luckily, I’m a very happy person, happily married, have two healthy children and we’re doing well,” emphasizes the moderator.
The 47-year-old is also open to getting older:
I’m turning 48 this year and it’s completely okay that wrinkles will come with age.

According to Jana Ina, self-confidence, self-love and self-acceptance are the key to natural beauty and she also passes this on to her eleven-year-old daughter. “I teach her that she doesn’t have to conform to please others,” the model explains to GALA. In her everyday life, Jana Ina completely avoids make-up: “I don’t want these long eyelashes at all. I’m completely in favor of naturalness winning and looking the most beautiful!” But what is the beauty secret behind her flawless appearance? For the pretty Brazilian, facial cleansing is like brushing her teeth in the morning and evening. “I actually learned that from my grandma back then.”

Speaking of family: Brother-in-law Stefano Zarrella, 33, was most recently on the “Let’s Dance” stage and her husband also danced on the show in 2017. As a native Brazilian, Jana Ina was practically born with a sense of rhythm. Wouldn’t it be something for them to take part there too? “Let’s Dance is really one of the greatest shows on German television but I think it’s actually not for me,” the presenter told GALA. Training every day for three months is currently not possible for the mother of two. “Maybe someday when the kids are older and out of the house and I’m bored. And then I’ll say, now I’ll dance.”
