The broadcaster describes the concept of the new show as follows: Six musicians move together into a loft in Cologne and compete against each other as a band in musical performances. The boy and girl band is accompanied by the camera, the "Battle of the Bands" app should be able to see every day what is happening in the loft. Once a week, the decisive battle takes place in the prime time broadcast. After the audience voting, it becomes clear which band has won the round and which candidate in the loser band will be replaced by a new band member.
"Battle of the Bands – Boys vs. Girls" starts on July 30th, Thursdays, at 8:15 p.m. on RTLzwei. The app will be available for Android and iOS from July 14th. All episodes are available free of charge in the app for 30 days after the broadcast. The entertainers Dennis and Benni Wolter, known from their YouTube show "World Wide Living Room", are used as digital hosts.
