A few days after the last update, Vanguard players were treated to the deployment of a new patch. From Fortified and Cold One tweaks, to Zombies and Multiplayer fixes, here’s everything you need to know.
While Vanguard’s January 20 update left a taste of unfinished business for many players, especially those familiar with Zombies mode, the developers didn’t wait long before putting a layer back on it.

Vanguard January 27 Patch Notes
MULTIPLAYER
Spawns
- Paradise
- Spawns on Paradise have been adjusted taking into account community feedback, after players reported sometimes coming into play next to opposing players
- Fixed a spawn causing the player to fall through the map
- Added invisible collision to prevent being trapped from one spawn to another
Assets
- Fortified
- Fortified now provides players with protection against the following:
- mortar barrage
- War machine
- Flamenaut Explosions
- Ammo box explosions
- Pomegranate Gammon
- Saddlebag fees
- Fortified no longer protects against the following:
- Goliath
- hover bomb
- Air raid
- Firebombing
- Direct hits from explosives
- Fortified now provides players with protection against the following:
Cold blood
- Cold Blood now protects against dogs
Weapons and accessories
- The “Summon” reticle from the Graveyard Shift Pack is now visible in the Armory
- Fixed a bug causing Ghost to be unintentionally disabled by Subsonic cartridges
- Fixed a bug where weapon icons would display on interactable objects such as doors
UI/Visual Effects
- Fixed a bug that made the player appear to be on fire, even when no damage was dealt
Private parts
- Fixed an issue in Control where the match would end prematurely when a CoDcaster disconnected
Zombies
Artifacts
- Fixed an issue where Ring of Fire Tier II was dealing inconsistent damage
- Damage from an Enhanced Ring of Fire no longer damages zombies above or below the placed ring.
- Ring of Fire damage now scales correctly by level
- Fixed an issue where kills with Artifacts would charge the Artifact for additional use
