Jason Momoa says that after leaving "Game of Thrones" he had great financial difficulties.
"Game of Thrones", "Aquaman", "Justice League" – Jason Momoa (41) has built a remarkable career in recent years. In a new interview with "InStyle", the 41-year-old talks about the time when he wasn't that popular in Hollywood.
Shortly after his serial death on "Game of Thrones" in 2011, he and his family were completely in debt. "I mean, we were starving for 'Game of Thrones'. I couldn't get a job. It's a big challenge when you have kids and a lot of debt," says Momoa. The actor has been married to Lisa Bonet (52, "The Bill Cosby Show") since 2017, and they have been together since 2005. They have two children together.
"People thought I don't speak English"
"A lot of people attacked me for a while. It hurt me very much. People thought I didn't speak English," Momoa recalled in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. "They didn't know I was playing a role. I'm not like Drogo." It was only in retrospect that "everyone fell in love with Drogo," said Momoa of his cult role as the Dothraki leader in the fantasy series.
Momoa can soon be seen in the remake of "Dune", alongside established and emerging stars like Javier Bardem (51), Zendaya (24) and Timothée Chalamet (24). A success that Momoa is still hard to grasp: "It was called 'Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem' and I just thought, 'Oh my God. I can't believe my name is in line with them . ' I feel like a little kid freaking out. "
