TV star Jay Pickett is dead. The actor was 60 years old. He is said to have been in the middle of a shoot when he passed away.

US actor Jay Pickett is dead. The TV star was 60 years old. Pickett, known for his roles in General Hospital and Port Charles, apparently died Friday while working on the film Treasure Valley. “Many of you have heard of the tragedy that happened two days ago. Jay Pickett, our lead actor, writer, producer and creator of this film, died while we were on the set to shoot a scene,” wrote co-producer Travis Mills in a post on the movie’s Facebook page on Sunday.


He added, “There is no official explanation for the cause of death, but it appears to have been a heart attack.” Everyone present tried to save Pickett’s life. “Our hearts are broken and we mourn his family who are so devastated by this shocking tragedy.” Mills described Pickett as an “incredible man” in the post: “He was kind, kind, and generous. He was one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with and it was an honor to film with him.”

“Decided to Ride to Heaven”

Actor Jim Heffel wrote in another postthat Pickett “died sitting on a horse”. He explained, “Yesterday I lost a good friend and the world a great person. Jay Pickett has decided to ride to heaven.”

Jay Pickett began his television career in the late 1980s. At the beginning of the 90s he could be seen in “Zeit der Sehnsucht”. Between 1997 and 2003 he played the role of Frank Scanlon in “Port Charles” in over 700 episodes and was later also seen in “General Hospital”. He had guest appearances in “Dexter” and “The Mentalist”, among others. Leaves according to “Deadline” he his wife Elena and three children.
