Two relatively accessible JBL headphones to enjoy your music even in “hostile” environments.

On the occasion of IFA 2023 in Berlin, JBL not only had a new range of Authentics speakers or its imposing PartyBox Ultimate to thrill us: the company is also renewing its headphones.

Live 770NC: JBL switches ANC to circumaural

This is how the Live 770NC and Live 670NC were formalized and presented to visitors to the German show. Two headphones whose primary objective is to reduce the entry ticket to the world of active noise reduction.

It is the more expensive of the company’s two models. Indeed, the Live 770NC is charged 179.99 euros while its availability is ” immediate according to the statement released by JBL. These headphones are a so-called circum-auricular model and therefore bring a bit of novelty to the previous range, made up of the Live 660NC alone, which will of course be entitled to its direct successor.

The Live 770NC features the brand’s adaptive noise reduction technology, Smart Ambient, to adjust the level of outside noise to suit listening situations. Of course, JBL offers the JBL One app to manage headphone features and equalization. Plus, Harman’s Personi-Fi 2.0 custom audio profile technology is on the menu.

On a more technical note, know that the Live 770NC is made up of two 40 mm speakers, that it is Bluetooth 5.3 compatible for a multi-point connection and that the announced autonomy is 50 hours with Bluetooth and active noise reduction activated (65 hours without).

Live 670NC: ANC for less than 130 euros

A little less ambitious, but also even cheaper, the Live 670NC is more directly the successor to the Live 660NC which JBL will therefore very quickly abandon.

The Live 670NC is an on-ear model available now at a price of 129.99 euros. For this price, we have a headset technically very close to the Live 770NC and we find the two 40 mm speakers as well as the Smart Ambient and Personi-Fi 2.0 functions. In the same way, Bluetooth is also there in 5.3 with Bluetooth LE Audio technology. JBL always incorporates two microphones for very clear voice capture.

The Smart Ambient remains the main element of a helmet which – if its warbling relates to its plumage – seems very well placed in its category. As with the Live 770NC, JBL announces a battery life of 50 hours in Bluetooth with active noise reduction and even 65 hours if these techniques are deactivated, knowing that a quick recharge can recover 4 hours in 5 minutes of charging.
