Jean-Jacques Bourdin accused of attempted sexual assault by an ex-colleague of BFMTV, the journalist denies

According to our colleagues from Parisian, a complaint for attempted sexual assault was filed against Jean-Jacques Bourdin on Tuesday January 11 by a former journalist from BFMTV. However, he denies the charges against him.

Jean-Jacques Bourdin finds himself today in the sights of justice, accused by a former colleague of having wanted to kiss him by force in a hotel swimming pool during a business trip to Corsica. According to information from Parisian, a former RMC and BFMTV journalist filed a complaint against the 72-year-old political interviewer for attempted sexual assault, this Tuesday, January 11 at the police station of the XVIth arrondissement in Paris. The prosecution confirmed having received the said complaint and is now examining the facts, even if they could be time-barred since they date back almost 10 years.

Facts that date back almost 10 years

The facts denounced date back to October 2013. The young BFMTV journalist, then aged 25, was invited by the channel’s boss, Alain Weill, to a pétanque competition in Calvi. She hesitates at first to accept, knowing that Jean-Jacques Bourdin, who was 64 at the time, will also be present. The journalist has indeed worked for several years for the former presenter of the morning of RMC and it did not go well. She even ended up being kicked out of her job because of their conflicting relationship. Finally, she still flies to Corsica where she resides in the same 5-star hotel as Anne Nivat’s companion. This is where the alleged events took place.

“I always get what I want”

According to her story to the police, the complainant decided to go swimming one morning, around 6 a.m., in the hotel swimming pool where she was joined by Jean-Jacques Bourdin. The latter would have began by complimenting her before approaching her, grabbing her by the neck and trying to kiss her. The journalist claims to have struggled and then managed to escape. As she steps out of the pool, his colleague from BFMTV would have launched to him: “I always get what I want”. A comment she perceived as “a threat” of a superior. “For years, I went to work with fear in my stomach, completely stressed”, she confides in Parisian. But having since left the BFM group, the young woman, now 33, is no longer afraid: “I’m no longer a young journalist scared of losing my job and I know I didn’t have to go through what I went through”. And chose to speak: “I am filing a complaint with the conviction that other women are concerned and that this will perhaps free up speech.” According to our colleagues, two other women could also come and testify in the coming days about similar facts.

Jean-Jacques Bourdin denies

Also contacted by The Parisian, Jean-Jacques Bourdin, shocked, categorically denies the facts: “I know this person, and I have worked with her. I admit having bathed with her in the swimming pool of this hotel. But I have never tried to kiss her by force, neither her nor anyone else. ‘other”.
