The disappearance of the title singer The low plunged his friend Jean-Jacques Goldman into mourning. Stabbed by her companion in 1989, two years after the release of the famous title interpreted in duet with the singer, Sirima Wiratunga was mother of a little boy named Kym. The Sri Lankan-born artist’s son was 1 year old at the time. If her father was sentenced to nine years in prison for this feminicide, Kym Wiratunga had to rebuild.
In an interview with Gala, to be published on Thursday January 27, 2022, this child who has become an adult, and currently a commercial at Virgin Media in the United Kingdom, confides in his painful journey. “After the tragedy, my maternal grandmother, Edith Navaratne, obtained my custody and brought me back to England”, he reveals before continuing: “I was first raised in the Fenland region, then I moved quite a bit so that my father wouldn’t locate us. We ended up settling in the small town of March.”
