The former iconic presenter of 1 p.m. TF1 died on March 2 from lung cancer at the age of 71.

Jean-Pierre Pernaut is died on Wednesday March 2nd, 2022 at the age of 71 at the Georges-Pompidou European Hospital. The emblematic journalist of TF1 suffered for several months from lung cancer. His disappearance particularly moved the television world and the loyal viewers of the one who presented the 13 hour news for 33 years.

Sunday March 6, 2022, Le Figaro announced that the funeral of Jean-Pierre Pernaut would take place on Wednesday March 9 from 11 a.m., a week after his death. They will be held in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, at the Basilica of Saint Clothilde. It was in this same place that the funeral of the sports journalist took place Thierry Roland in June 2012.

Jean-Pierre Pernaut’s funeral will take place in the strictest privacy.

If many personalities should come to the religious ceremony to pay homage to Jean-Pierre Pernaut, his funeral will then be celebrated in the strictest privacy. The location has not been disclosed. His relatives, including his wife Nathalie Marquay and his children Julia (1978), Olivier (1981), Lou (2002) and Tom (2003), particularly affected by his passingshould probably go there.

Jean-Pierre Pernaut was from village of Quevavillers in the Sum. He was particularly attached to his Picardy roots. In October 2016, his mother Françoise was buried in the cemetery of Bouvaincourt-sur-Blesle where she had lived. This week, a tribute fresco where the journalist also appears with Bouvaincourt-sur-Blesle as a background was produced in Picardy. A beautiful tribute quickly welcomed by his wife, Nathalie Marquay.
