In his autobiographical book Clocks on time published in 1985, the famous jazz guitarist, composer and singer, who died in July 2004, had confided in his romance with Jeanne Moreau.

Subsequently, the interpreter of Love to lose the reason had known other love stories, especially with Brigitte Bardotbefore meeting Francine Bréaud, ski champion, with whom he married in 1963. Jeanne Moreau, for her part, continued an equally rich love life, having had numerous affairs with famous men, including Jean-Paul Belmondo, Marcello Mastroianni and Warren Beatty. From her marriage to the director and actor Jean-Louis Richard, Jérôme, her only son, was born in 1949.
