Jeff Bezos has safely returned to earth after his short space trip.

After eleven minutes in space, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (57) landed safely on earth again. After his short trip, the 57-year-old spoke of the “best day ever”.

Bezos took off with his spaceship, the “New Shepard”, and three other companions with a slight delay shortly after 3 p.m. from the desert in the west of the US state of Texas. The automated flight took around ten minutes. Bezos wore a blue space suit and a cowboy hat.

The crew

On board were Bezo’s brother Mark (53), the 82-year-old former US pilot Wally Funk and an 18-year-old from the Netherlands, who had received the flight as a gift from his father. The capsule reached its highest point at a height of 100 kilometers. When the weightlessness stopped, the passengers were allowed to leave their seats for a short time.

After the crew landed back on Earth, Bezos was the first to get out. He was according to the “New York Post” received by his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez (51). The crew also had champagne with them.

“Historic Moment”

The date for the flight was not chosen by chance. Exactly 52 years ago, Neil Armstrong (1930-2012) and Buzz Aldrin (91) were the first people to set foot on the moon. The space company Blue Origin, founded by Bezos, called the trip into space a “historic moment in the history of space travel”.

The British billionaire Richard Branson (70) was the first private individual to fly into space around ten days earlier.
