Jeff Zucker resigns as CNN boss. According to his own statement, he has not yet made a relationship with an employee public.

Jeff Zucker (56) has announced his resignation as head of CNN Worldwide. He announced on Wednesday (February 2).that he has resigned from his position with immediate effect. The resignation is the result of a questioning of Zucker as part of investigations into the time of presenter Chris Cuomo (51) at the news channel. He was released in December 2021 for helping his brother Andrew Cuomo (64), ex-governor of New York, defend himself in his abuse scandal.

Jeff Zucker: “The relationship has developed”

“As part of the investigation into Chris Cuomo’s time at CNN, I was asked about an amicable relationship with my closest colleague, with whom I have worked for more than 20 years,” Zucker told employees in a memo when he resigned. “I have explained that the relationship has evolved over the past few years. I had to disclose it when it started, but I didn’t. I made a mistake.”

The colleague is believed to be Allison Gollust, CNN’s chief marketing officer, who released her own statement: “Jeff and I have been close friends and professional partners for over 20 years. Recently, our relationship has changed during Covid. I regret that we didn’t disclose them at the right time.” Gollust, who previously worked with Zucker at NBC, will remain at CNN. Zucker has been CNN’s boss since 2013. In addition to this position, he was also responsible for the news and sports departments at WarnerMedia.
