In 2021, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck got back together after dating before. That’s how much she raves about her partner.
The first time it shouldn’t work with “Bennifer”. The second time, Jennifer Lopez (52) and Ben Affleck (49) approach their relationship very differently. That tells the singer and actress in an interview with the US magazine “People”.
Lopez and Affleck first started dating in 2002 and later even got engaged. However, the couple separated in 2004. Many years later, the two found each other again in 2021. “I’ve never felt better,” says the 52-year-old now. They all just experienced a “very nice moment”. In addition to herself and the actor, she also means her thirteen-year-old twins Max and Emme, who come from a previous marriage to Marc Anthony (53). Affleck, in turn, has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner (49).
Lopez and Affleck are doing it differently now
She considers herself lucky and proud to be with Affleck: “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance.” But the actor and his colleague were initially a bit afraid. When they were together at the time, everything was very public. That also damaged the relationship.
At the second attempt, the couple thought how happy they were – and that this shouldn’t happen again. “We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different points in our lives, we have kids now and we have to be very aware of these things,” Lopez said.
The 52-year-old is just happy that she is in a loving relationship. She wants to do everything to protect them. The whole thing feels different than it did 20 years ago. “When you find someone and you really, really love them – and you get a second chance? Then that’s something really rare, precious and beautiful,” she continues.
She always knew that Affleck would one day become the man, father and partner she sees today – and who he always wanted to be. Lopez can teach her children that “true love really exists”. Some things might be forever, even if they might not be in a straight line. The singer also hinted that she could well imagine growing old with Affleck. Could the wedding bells ring for the two at some point?
