In her new documentary, Jennifer Lopez talks about her relationship with Ben Affleck and reveals that she was angry with the actor for a long time after their breakup in the early 2000s. She has now forgiven him.
Jennifer Lopez, 54, has spoken frequently about her relationship in recent weeks as part of the premiere of her musical film “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story.” to Ben Affleck, 51, which began over 20 years ago. The broken wedding and painful separation in 2003 took a lot of toll on the singer. “We lost our self-esteem and had to break up because we didn’t know how we were going to survive. I had to find myself, and he had to find himself,” she said in an interview with Variety.

In the Prime documentary “The Most Beautiful Love Story Never Told,” Jennifer Lopez talks about the lengthy healing process that the separation from Affleck entailed. At one point, the “Good Will Hunting” actor asks Lopez if she has forgiven him or is still upset. “I think I was mad at you for a long time,” she replies, adding, “But that heartbreak set us both on the path to finding ourselves and becoming better people. I have completely forgiven you. I think I have to myself [für] forgive some things.”
Ben Affleck has set a condition before his romantic comeback
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck found each other again in 2021. On July 17, 2022, they finally said yes. The actor, who is known to be shy of publicity, had concerns about the romantic comeback – and initially made a request. “When we got back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media,'” the 51-year-old recalls in the documentary, but adds: “Then I realized “It’s not fair to ask for something like that. It’s like marrying a ship captain and then saying, ‘I don’t like the water.'”
Therefore, the two would compromise. Jennifer Lopez explains: “I don’t think Ben is comfortable with anything I do. But he loves me, he knows I’m an artist. He’ll support me in any way he can, […] He doesn’t want to stop me.”
