Tom Cruise, a very busy actor

Top Gun 3 is definitely in the pipeline, but Jerry Bruckheimer has no idea when the film might see the light of day. He actually explained on the microphone of Screen Rant that the feature film should wait until the schedule of Tom Cruise, who will once again be headlining, becomes available:

“Tom is great. We spent time with him and we know what the movie is going to be about. Joe Kosinski had a great idea for this third installment and Tom really liked it so that’s what we’re developing. But we can’t know when it will be able to be done because Tom is very busy. Mission: Impossible 8 right now, and he has another project after that. We hope to be able to put together a scenario that he likes and be able to take off again.”

The Paramount studio hopes that the director of Top Gun: MaverickJoseph Kosinski, will also return behind the camera for this new film, the screenplay of which is being written by Ehren Kruger (Top Gun: Maverick, Ghost in the Shell). Likewise, we expect to find several actors from the second opus, including Glen Powell and Miles Teller, even if nothing is yet confirmed.

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 will be a reboot

Bruckheimer immediately clarified that the franchise Pirates of the Caribbean had freed itself from its dependence on the availability of certain actors… because it would start again from scratch.

It is near Comicbook.com that Bruckheimer announced that the next film Pirates of the Caribbean would be a reboot of the franchise launched in 2003 with Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley starring.

Two scenarios for a sixth opus of Pirates of the Caribbean have been developed in recent years. One planned to feature Margot Robbie (barbie), but it seems that this is not the project that Disney ultimately approved.

If the film with Robbie has not yet been completely ruled out, the next Pirates of the Caribbean should instead focus on an entirely new cast. This new adventure is co-written by Craig Mazin (The Last of Us) and Ted Elliot (Shrek, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl), who presented their idea to Disney last year. They were surprised to see it adopted by the studio, convinced that it was “too weird” for Mickey’s House.
