LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – American rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis has died aged 87, his spokesman said on Friday.

Born in 1935 in Louisiana, Jerry Lee Lewis was one of the last surviving rock ‘n’ roll pioneers since Little Richard passed away in 2020.

Nicknamed “The Killer”, the author of “Great Balls of Fires” had been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when it was created in 1986.

He died at his home in Desoto County, Mississippi, with his wife Judith by his side, his spokesperson said in a statement.
