The 74th Cannes Film Festival has opened. Actress Jodie Foster shows her gratitude for the comeback.
Visibly pleased, actress Jodie Foster (58) shines on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, which started on Tuesday (July 6th). After all, the US star hasn’t been to a major film event for almost two years. And what’s more: the golden palm of honor also goes to the Oscar winner at the opening of this year’s film festival.
The acting icon was hardly noticeable in her very simple outfit. Foster wore a plain white polo shirt with a black mini skirt. She had combed her hair open and neat. The shoes with their golden applications provided glamor. Jodie Foster rounded off her outfit with very delicate accessories: a gold chain, rings and delicate earrings. Her makeup was also very simple.
The organizers of the film festival want Foster’s “brilliant artistic career, her extraordinary personality and her unobtrusive and at the same time constant commitment to the great issues of our time to be honored”. Last year, the film festival had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. This year there is a large number of stars – including Matt Damon (50), Adam Driver (37) and director Steve McQueen (51), to name just a few. A total of 20,000 guests are expected by the day of the final on July 17th – half as many as usual.
