A welcome distraction for a president in the midst of political slump: Joe Biden presented Monday, December 20 on Twitter the new four-legged inhabitant of the White House, a puppy called “Commander”.

“Welcome to the White House, Commander”, we read in the caption of a picture published on the official Twitter account of the American president and showing a young dog, which appears to be a German Shepherd, in full race, a bullet in the mouth. A video from the same account shows the public on “Newcomer to the Biden family”.
We see the dog advancing towards the president – also “Commander in chief”, commander-in-chief of the armed forces – who greets him with a “Hey, mate”. Joe Biden is also filmed throwing a ball or entering the White House with the puppy on a leash, along with his wife Jill.
The American president suffers from a very low confidence rating and faces as much political blockages as a resurgence of Covid-19. His services did not immediately give details of this new companion, whose arrival will certainly trigger a strong curiosity in a country where pets are particularly loved and pampered.
