Joe Biden says Pentagon chief should have informed him of his health

WASHINGTON, Jan 12 (Reuters) – Joe Biden said on Friday that his Defense Secretary, Lloyd Austin, should have informed him of the illness that led to his hospitalization, while adding that he retained his confidence in him.

“Yes,” replied the President of the United States when asked if the head of the Pentagon had made an error of judgment in not informing him of his state of health.

Lloyd Austin has been hospitalized since January 1 following complications related to a procedure undergone on December 22 for prostate cancer. (Written by Nandita Bose, Katharine Jackson, French version Bertrand Boucey)
