Released after days of rumours The frontman of the Jonas Brothers now made a statement on Instagram that he wrote together with his still-wife. It read: “After four wonderful years, we have decided together and in friendship to end our marriage.”
There is “a lot of speculation as to why,” Jonas and Turner continued, “but this is truly a joint decision and we hope everyone can respect our desire for privacy, both for ourselves and for our children.”
Jonas is said to have officially filed the divorce papers as early as Tuesday, it was reported the “People” magazine, which has the relevant court documents. It says accordingly: “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.”
According to the divorce application, the singer and the actress known from “Game of Thrones” have signed a marriage contract. The documents have been filed with a court in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
He wants joint custody
How the US celebrity portal “TMZ” reported, Joe Jonas has filed for joint custody of their two daughters (ages three and one). A judge should therefore draw up a plan as to how he and Sophie will share the educational tasks in the future.
Jonas, according to “TMZ”, has taken care of the two daughters “almost all the time” for the past three months, although he is currently on a world tour with his brothers. He has also been spotted several times without a wedding ring.
