During a new hearing with investigators this Friday, November 12, the 17-year-old high school student admitted to having lied about her kidnapping while jogging.

Gray areas intrigued the police since the young girl from Mayenne reappeared bloody and “in shock” in a kebab restaurant in Sablé-sur-Sarthe (Sarthe). Doubt is no longer allowed: the 17-year-old jogger admitted having invented everything in this case of (false) kidnapping and escape which lasted 24 hours. In a press release, the prosecutor of the Republic of Laval specifies that “the young girl said that she lied, that she had not been kidnapped and went to Sablé-sur-Sarthe on foot.”

During a first hearing by investigators on Wednesday, November 10 in the morning, the young girl had claimed to have been kidnapped Monday by two men driving a green van. In the story of her incredible escape, she was allegedly confined in a house but managed to escape. Faced with the inconsistencies of his words and the absence of traces of any green van on the security cameras, the police decided to question the jogger, named Lisa, this Friday morning, November 12.

Subject to prosecution for “denunciation of imaginary infringement”

According to the prosecutor, “the wounds [de la jeune fille] are of accidental origin, she allegedly tore her T-shirt with a pair of scissors. She added that she was sorry to have caused a major mobilization. Currently supported by her parents who were informed of her statements, the girl will be the subject of a procedure for ‘denunciation of imaginary offense’. “

During the search, some 200 soldiers had been mobilized to try to find the 17-year-old teenager, who disappeared when she had just left for a jog in the wood of Saint-Brice on Monday, November 8. She used to do a 5 km loop but personal effects (GPS sports watch, smartphone) had been found 1 km from her home. Bloodied headphones were also found. The next evening, she had found refuge in a kebab in Sablé-sur-Sarthe, located about ten kilometers from her place of departure.
