Johnson hesitates despite high gas prices in the UK

Before the exit referendum, Boris Johnson vowed to put an end to VAT on electricity and heating costs. Now, of all times, when the bills are skyrocketing, he doesn’t want to hear anything about it anymore.

The high electricity and heating costs are also causing red heads in Great Britain. This presents Boris Johnson with the challenge of proving the advantages of Brexit to the British – and makes him difficult to explain. The prime minister is being asked not only by the opposition but also by politicians from his own party to cut VAT on energy bills. But the head of government does not want to know anything about it, although he himself had advertised the deletion as a major plus point of Brexit.
