JoJo Siwa doesn’t want to kiss anyone other than her friend – not even for a movie. She was now successful with her protest.

Internet sensation Joelle Joanie, or “JoJo” for short, Siwa (18) will play the leading role in the children’s book adaptation “Bounce”. But it quickly became clear to the teen star: Under no circumstances would she have to shoot a kissing scene with a male actor. The dancer and actress now seems to have had success with her claim, like the industry magazine “Variety” reported.

Siwa, who came out as pansexual in January of this year, attracted attention a few days ago, when she was interviewed by “Entertainment Weekly” made it clear: “I’m madly in love and I don’t want to kiss another person. Especially if it’s a man.” Shortly after coming out, the 18-year-old announced her relationship with friend Kylie Prew (18). “I don’t want that,” Siwa continued. “I will try so hard that it will be deleted. That will also happen. It will be deleted.”

Filming could start in the fall

The teen star should be right. An anonymous source had confirmed to “Variety” that the kissing scene was not necessary for the film and could be deleted if the actress did not feel comfortable with it. JoJo Siwa published a tweet on Tuesday in which she wrote: “My friends at Paramount […] assured me that I never have to do anything I don’t want to do !!! I’m so excited to be making the movie ‘Bounce’ and I couldn’t work on it with better people !!! “

If the film production company Paramount Players gave “Bounce” the green light, filming would begin this fall. The film adaptation of the novel is to be produced by director Susan Johnson (50), who was already responsible for the Netflix success “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”. “Bounce” should be released in 2022.
