Failing to parody Koh-Lanta, Jonathan Cohen would have been very seduced by the idea of being part of the adventurers arbitrated by Denis Brogniart.
Monday May 23subscribers of Canal + will be able to discover the first episode of the series The torch, worn by Jonathan Cohen. After parodying The Bachelor for eight episodes with The flameit is in Koh-Lanta that the French actor will now tackle.

On the occasion of the launch of the series, Jonathan Cohen gave an interview to Paris Match. In the columns of the magazine, the actor confided in his love for Koh-Lanta: “It’s always captivating, I love it! I’m a big fan of Denis Brogniart. I would have liked to participate in the show, but mainly to lose weight“he said of the star host, who left him a message.
Unfortunately, intention is not always enough. Jonathan Cohen admitted his fitness wasn’t quite on the level of a good adventurer: “I am totally unsuited to adventure. Just the event where you have to stand on a pole… The pole is too small for me”he amused himself.
Beyond Jonathan Cohen’s lack of facilities for sport, the actor, who has undergone intensive training for the series, said he has no predispositions for the strategies involved in the adventure: “Twisting is not in my nature, I don’t know how to do it. I would have been eliminated very quickly”did he declare.

In The torchviewers will find Marc as well as several of his contenders, including Soraya (Adèle Exarchopoulos), Marina (Géraldine Nakache), Alexandra (Leïla Bekhti), Chataléré (Camille Chamoux).
Other actors also appear in the series Canal +, like Kad Merad, Ramzy Bédia, or even Jérôme Commandeur, who will be Denis Brogniart of the program. During his interview with Paris Match, Jonathan Cohen revealed that The torch should never have seen the light of day : “There was talk of doing the sequel to La Flamme with a bachelorette, but we ended up with the same cogs as the first season”he explained. “The problem is that we realized it late (…) we had to write everything in just six months”he continued.
