Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari has filed a civil lawsuit in New York state against the fallen Marvel star.

New legal trouble for the fallen Marvel star Jonathan Majors, 34. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari filed a lawsuit against the actor in the US state on March 19. The lawsuit speaks of a “pattern of domestic violence” that Majors is said to have exhibited between 2021 and 2023.

Will Majors’ guilty verdict be followed by a costly civil trial?

The former Hollywood whiz kid was found guilty of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend Jabbari in a sensational criminal trial in a New York court in mid-December. The sentence will be announced on April 8th. Majors faces up to a year in prison.

If Jabbari’s civil lawsuit also goes to trial and ends with a guilty verdict, the defendant could face a potentially high fine. In her statement of claim, Jabbari describes shocking incidents of domestic violence. In September 2022, Majors is said to have repeatedly hit her head against a marble floor and choked her. The criminal trial against Majors concerned an incident from March 2023. The actor is said to have physically attacked his then-partner after she discovered a text message from another woman on his smartphone.

Jonathan Majors was supposed to be the next big Marvel villain

Immediately following Majors’ guilty verdict, the actor was fired from Marvel Studios in December 2023. He previously appeared in the superhero film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and the streaming series “Loki”, and was expected to become the next adversary of the Avengers in the Marvel Universe. Majors has also lost other acting engagements in the meantime, such as the lead role in a planned biopic about ex-NBA star Dennis Rodman, 62.
