Jordan Bardella (RN) announces his indictment for his remarks on Trappes

In October 2021, after the re-election of the mayor of Trappes Ali Rabeh, Jordan Bardella had deplored in a press release that “the government remains passive in the face of the constitution of Islamic Republics in miniature”.

The acting president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella, announced on Wednesday his indictment for having qualified in October 2021 the city of Trappes (Yvelines) as an “Islamic Republic”. “I received the notification of the indictment for having qualified the city of Trappes as an Islamic Republic when I returned home yesterday,” said the RN MEP on Europe 1.

In October 2021, after the re-election of the mayor of Trappes Ali Rabeh, Jordan Bardella, deploring in a press release that “the government remains passive before the constitution of Islamic Republics in miniature”, had claimed that the city councilor, whom he suspected of clientelism Islamist, be revoked and his city placed under guardianship.

“I regret that French justice is pursuing the same goal today as the Islamists, namely to silence those who denounce reality and those who refuse to see countless neighborhoods in France transform,” criticized Mr. Bardella on Wednesday.

Because this indictment comes “at a time when we learn that journalists, and in particular one of your colleagues from M6 and a resident of Roubaix, have been placed under police protection for not only denouncing, but simply describing reality and showing the progression of Islamism in the city of Roubaix”, he lamented. M6 host Ophélie Meunier and a young man from Roubaix, Amine Elbahi, were placed under police protection after receiving threats following a report by the program “Zone Interdite” on Islamism.

“This presidential election will obviously be an issue of civilization but also an issue of security because Islamism today has taken power in many neighborhoods and we are the only ones to oppose it,” added Mr. Bardella.

“The physical or legal persecution of those who tell the real say a lot about the state of France. Let’s act before it’s too late,” he tweeted before.

Jordan Bardella accuses Eric Zemmour of canvassing

The acting president of the RN also declared, on a more political level, that Eric Zemmour had canvassed elected RNs to obtain support for his candidacy. “Elected officials, sometimes in very high positions, have been offered work contracts or unlimited means to campaign,” he said.

“We can confront each other on the ideological level without going fishing in the opposing camp morning, noon and evening and being tempted to use unfair methods,” he explained. However, he was careful not to castigate the voters of his competitor from the national right. “Eric Zemmour’s voters are patriots (…) The situation in the country demands that we come together, behind the best-placed candidate in both the first and second rounds to ensure that the camp of the patriots and that national ideas can prevail. And above all that we avoid the re-election of Emmanuel Macron, that is what is at stake.
