After three weeks of excavations around Cagnac-les-Mines (Tarn), in the hope of finding the body of Delphine Jubillar, the investigators stopped the search, learned CNEWS.

“This research was necessary, there were checks to be made, we have committed significant resources. These excavations were in vain, but the investigation continues”, for his part assured a source close to the file to AFP.

To carry out his research around Cagnac-les-Mines, the village where the nurse had been living for more than a year, experts from the Specialized Task Force (FOS) of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment (RGP) and the gendarmes of the search section carried out a grid of the area. The latter included several wooded and steep areas surrounding the village.

The soldiers are equipped with hyper-sensitive radars as well as metal detectors, enabling them to analyze in depth the surroundings of a farm in the hamlet of Drignac, the undergrowth, a perimeter not far from a cemetery, a motocross field as well as a field of photovoltaic panels.

First excavations in early 2021

After hearing the statements of a cell neighbor of Cédric Jubillar, who claimed that the latter had told him that he had buried the body of his wife near a farm in this hamlet, the gendarmes had carried out an inspection at the beginning of 2021. of these places. The investigators therefore carried out a more in-depth search in this same area.

As a reminder, Delphine Jubillar disappeared on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020, in the midst of a health curfew. It was her husband, Cédric Jubillar, who had given the alert to the gendarmes in the early morning, claiming that she had gone to walk their dogs the night before and had never returned.

He has since been the main suspect in this case. Placed since June 18, 2021 in pre-trial detention, a detention which he described as unjustified, he still claims his innocence and is again summoned by his judges on February 11 next.

So far, his multiple requests for release have all been denied.
