Jubillar case Disappearance of Delphine Jubillar: new excavations with the reinforcement of specialized soldiers

The search to find Delphine Jubillar, who has been missing for more than a year, resumed on Monday with the launch of excavations around the couple’s house. In addition to the gendarmes, soldiers from the Specialized Operational Excavations (FOS) were dispatched to around the village of Cagnac-les-Mines, in the Tarn, where Delphine Jubillar, her husband and their two children lived.

This special unit, having already been called upon in this case, is used “to search for a buried or buried body”, according to a source close to the investigation, who also reported the presence on site of experts scientists from the National Gendarmerie Criminal Research Institute (IRCGN).

Near a farm that burned down a few months ago, at a place called Drignac, there was a coming and going of gendarmerie vehicles and unmarked white vans, transporting soldiers in fatigues. A security perimeter was established by the gendarmes around the excavation area, located about a kilometer from the Jubillar couple’s house, and which was still shrouded in thick fog.

“Always a hope”

“The excavations will last several days, even several weeks,” a source from the gendarmerie told AFP, explaining that these are “hilly areas” and that “more than a hundred people” are mobilized. , including also a squadron of the mobile gendarmerie from Tuesday.

According to the investigators, the research “has never been interrupted” and is being carried out “on several sites”. “There is always hope of finding her, there or in another local area,” a source close to the investigation told AFP. “The family has come to terms with the idea that she will not be found alive. She hopes that light will be shed on her disappearance and that the body will be found to give her a burial, and to truly mourn, ”said Philippe Pressecq, lawyer for relatives of Delphine Jubillar who have filed a civil action.

Statements from a co-detainee of Cédric Jubillar

The Drignac farm was targeted following the statements of a detainee from a cell next to that of Cédric Jubillar, placed in solitary confinement at the Seysses remand center, near Toulouse. This man indeed declared several weeks ago to the investigators of the research section of the gendarmerie that the husband had told him that he had buried the body of his wife there.

It is also following these declarations that the current companion of Cédric Jubillar had been placed in police custody last December for 36 hours. Suspected of having met this former prisoner after his release from prison, she was released without being prosecuted.

“For me, Cédric Jubillar is sowing false leads and the debate on the farm must amuse him a lot from his prison. In my opinion, this will lead to nothing, ”supported Me Philippe Pressecq. The lawyer, however, welcomed that new excavations take place at places that have already been excavated. “Because we must not forget that Cédric Jubillar remained free for six months after the disappearance of his wife, and it is not implausible to think that the body could have been moved”, he declared .

At the time of Delphine’s disappearance, the couple was in the process of divorce and the investigators are convinced of the involvement of Cédric Jubillar. They favor the thesis of a violent argument in their house in Cagnac-les-Mines, during which he would have killed her, before hiding her body.
