Julien Doré reacts cash to Jean Castex’s announcements on gauges in concert halls

This December 27 was marked by new announcements from the Prime Minister imposing health restrictions. Some of them have aroused astonished reactions, in particular from artists like Julien Doré.

Faced with the new epidemic outbreak of covid and its variant Omicron, new restrictions were taken by the government on Monday evening. Thus, gauges are restored for large gatherings. Henceforth, a maximum of 2,000 people will be able to meet indoors while 5,000 people will be allowed outside. Shows, cinemas and sporting events are concerned … as well as concerts which will be prohibited in “standing”. A measure that necessarily calls out to musicians, especially Julien Doré.

An inconsistency …

Whether on social networks where he responds to criticism or parodies certain people such as influencers, shoots videos of his own, with his friends like Clara Luciani or on TV sets where he does not hesitate to make use of his second degree, Julien Doré is known for his sometimes scathing sense of humor. And this December 27 was no exception to the rule. Jumping on the occasion of the latest sanitary measures announced by Jean Castex at a press conference, “Golden Julien”, as the singer is called on his Twitter profile, joked about inconsistencies he had raised. Using a promotional photo showing him eyebrow raised and wary, the singer posted a montage, clown emoticon in support: “Gauges for rallies: the measures announced do not apply for political meetings.”

… which is legally explained

This inconsistency raised by Julien Doré, who has just announced that he had become a dad for the first time, has in fact a legal explanation. In fact, in the midst of the presidential campaign, the political meetings are exempt from restriction, protected by the Constitution. Likewise, the State cannot demand that a health pass be imposed. However, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin should soon convene a commission made up of all political parties to set general rules. Tuesday morning, La République en Marche, Emmanuel Macron’s party, announced for example that it would apply the same gauges as for other events bringing together the public.
