Even after 20 years, “I’m a star – get me out of here!” many spectators. RTL is pleased about good ratings at the start of 2024.

The 2024 premiere on Friday evening was more successful than the opening episodes of the previous two seasons: a total of 4.71 million viewers tuned in from 8:15 p.m. There were 3.29 million among advertising-relevant 14 to 59 year olds. RTL is pleased with an “excellent 32.3 percent market share” in this group and even an “outstanding 38.8 percent market share” among 14 to 49 year olds. “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!” have secured “market leadership in the broadcast slot” in both viewer groups.

The jungle show interests many viewers well into the night

In contrast to previous years, the approximately three and a half hour opening episode for the 17th season began at prime time. As well as “DWDL.de” reported, it achieved the best target group ratings since 2020. RTL was assured of high ratings well into the night. 2.15 million 14 to 49 year olds watched, meaning the live show topped the Friday list “by a clear margin”. For comparison: The “Tagesschau” in the first came in second place with around 0.92 million. The after-jungle show “The Hour After” also had a 27.4 percent market share in the relevant audience group.

By the way, in 2023, none of the 17 jungle camp episodes reached as many viewers. Last year the best was a good 4.5 million – that was in the finale of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!”. Around 4.3 million fans watched the premiere in 2023.

The second episode will also be shown on RTL this Saturday from 8:15 p.m and RTL+. Influencer Twenty4Tim (23) and reality star Kim Virginia (28) will compete in the next test.
