Jura By joining an elite team, athlete Théo Bourgeois is boosting his career

Jules Bariod in the footsteps of Théo Bourgeois

Sixteen-year-old Jules Bariod has just joined the Brooks Trail Project in Besançon, after passing the entrance tests. At the start, there were around fifty to apply, and 21 selected, for physical tests and individual interviews. Four of them were taken (three boys and a girl) who are: Loanne Roussillon, Antonin Pivry, Victor Lagarde and Jules Bariod. During the departmental cross country championship (Jura Doubs cadets), which took place in Besançon, Jules Bariod finished second, four seconds behind Côme Le Baron (Besançon). Before taking up running, Jules Bariod practiced football with FC Champagnole. He was highlighted in college races, winning the departmental UNSS (National School Sports Union). Théo Bourgeois, who like him lives in Ney, introduced him to racing. “I took a liking to it and decided to quit football. At the racing level, I am especially interested in trails, running in nature, with elevation gain”, underlines Jules Bariod who, after his integration course in Besançon, continued his journey with the regional championships of cross cadets in Malcombe (Besançon ) on February 6.
