A new Jurassic era will begin! The webzine Deadline confirmed that Universal Studios is preparing a new film Jurassic World, which is set for release on July 2, 2025 in the United States. David Leitch, director of John Wick And Deadpool 2is also in discussions with the studio to stage this future feature film.
The return of the dinosaurs
We learned two weeks ago that Universal was working on a new film Jurassic World with the screenwriter of the first two films Jurassic ParkDavid Koepp.
This new blockbuster (which does not yet have an official title) will tell a completely new story that is not expected to include the characters from the films Jurassic World Or Jurassic Park. The actors of these opuses (Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern…) should therefore not be in the casting. Only the dinosaurs will be back, as usual.
A popular director
David Leitch is currently popular at Universal, with the studio having high hopes for the release of his film The Fall Guywith Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, scheduled for next May.
Leitch, to whom we owe the first film in the franchise John Wick as well as Deadpool 2 And Bullet Trainhas demonstrated his ability to mix action and humor in his films, which could therefore fit well with the franchise Jurassic World and breathe new life into it. A formalization should therefore arrive shortly.
This new Jurassic World will be able to count on Steven Spielberg as executive producer via Amblin Entertainment. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will also produce, as will David Leitch and Kelly McCormick for 87North.
While waiting to discover this new Jurassic World in 2025, all of the films in the franchise can be seen (or rewatched) in streaming on the Netflix and Amazon Prime Video platforms.
