Alexandre Astier confided that the island mentioned in Kaamelott – First part, Thanet, ceded to the Saxons and to the character of Sting, actually existed, which allows us to have some hypotheses for the rest of the events of the film.

Kaamelott’s DVD-Blu-Ray – First part is finally out and with it, an audio commentary provided by Alexandre Astier in the company of two of his children. The opportunity for fans to glean more information on the scenes of the film and its characters.
The creator of the saga shared that the Isle of Thanet, mentioned at the start of the film, was actually very real and his presence in Kaamelott was no accident.
In the film, the Saxon Horsa asks in exchange for his services to hunt down Arthur and his knights nothing less than the Isle of Thanet, which Lancelot offers him without regret, thus fragmenting the kingdom of Logres. Alexandre Astier comments:
[Cette] Isle of Thanet which existed at one time and which no longer exists today because the sand has moved up between the island of England and that of Thanet, which is therefore now part of England. But indeed, it would be question that the Saxons have put the first foot of their invasion on this island of Thanet.

Note that Alexandre Astier evokes a Saxon invasion, which could one day be part of one of the two suites provided for in the First part. The film ends with a line of Horsa, and it will certainly count for a lot in the sequel to Arthur’s adventures and his revival of the Round Table.
The Saxons’ obtaining of Thanet, as recounted in the film through the prism of fiction and of King Arthur, is based on historical facts. The Saxons’ arrival at Thanet is said to have taken place in what is now the hamlet of Ebbsfleet, Kent. Horsa and Hengist would have been part of the trip, welcomed on site by the leader of the Bretons, Vertigier.

Sting in Horsa’s skin
Horsa is Hengist’s brother. They are the founders of the Kingdom of Kent, Great Britain, and they are an integral part of the Arthurian myth. We can imagine that Hengist was replaced in Kaamelott by Wulfstan (Jehnny Beth), a Saxon mercenary with a strong character.
