While waiting for the next film, Kaamelott could return soon in the form of a LEGO kit!
Created in 2008, the platform Lego Ideas allows the general public to propose a creation based on the Lego construction set, with a view to possible marketing. For a creation to have a chance of being produced, it must first reach 10,000 votes, which will allow it to be examined by LEGO, with a view to possible commercialization. Since 2014, out of just over 37,000 projects presented, around fifty of them have finally landed on the shelves.
Kaamelott soon in a LEGO version?
For several weeks, it has been the creation of an architect from Finistère, but residing in Australia, who has been shaking up the platform. Indeed, Thomas Maguer has produced a faithful reproduction of a particularly popular French saga: Kaamelott.
And if it generally takes several months to obtain the necessary 10,000 votes, the creation “ Kaamelott: The Knights of the Round Table » collected the precious votes in just thirty days! You will have understood, it is now LEGO’s turn to decide whether this kit will see the light of day or not.
Patience is a dish that is eaten without sauce
In total, Thomas Maguer spent two months precisely recreating many iconic elements of the Kaamelott saga. The set includes just under 3,000 pieces, which allow you to reproduce different locations from the series (the throne room, the bedroom, the forest, the tavern) without forgetting the different characters.
The kit actually includes 19 characters, including Arthur, Percival, Caradoc, Merlin, Bohort, Guinevere, the Lady of the Lake, Lancelot… Added to this are the technical operators who are responsible for filming the scenes.
These have their own platform, loaded with equipment and mounted on 4 wheels, capable of moving quickly around the film set.
It remains to be seen whether the unconditional support of fans of the series led by Alexandre Astier will be enough to convince LEGO to bring this Kaamelott project to fruition.
Remember that the series has already been produced in numerous derivative products, including a Funko Pop figurine bearing the image of Arthur Pendragon. So be patient….
And you, would you be interested in this LEGO kit? Kaamelott if the latter were to be marketed?
