generation of Kalray, won the FMS award in the “DPU” category. This award symbolizes, for the second consecutive year, the industry’s recognition of the innovation and commercial value brought by Kalray’s solutions to the intensive storage market and DPUs in general.

KALRAY UNVEILS ITS NEW ACCELERATING BOARD FOR HEAVY-DUTY STORAGE AT FMS 2023

Kalray’s K220-LP™ Smart Storage Accelerator (“SSA”) card was featured at this edition of FMS. By relieving the main CPU of the heavy processing associated with intensive storage and the management of fast NVMe SSD memories, the SSA card makes it possible to exploit the full potential of this new type of memory in any server. The main CPU is thus freed up to perform tasks billable to the end user, while all storage-related tasks are offloaded to the Kalray card, while reducing the overall consumption of the solution. This solution also makes it possible to accelerate access to storage, in particular in the context of applications that need high performance such as Artificial Intelligence or IoT.

KALRAY DEMONSTRATES THE BENEFITS OF ADOPTING QLC MEMORY FOR DATA CENTERS WITH ITS DPU

Kalray also demonstrated during the FMS one of the very promising uses of its acceleration card, which in particular enables rapid adoption by data centers of the very new generation of SSD memories, called QLC SSDs. Kalray’s DPU has acceleration and “programmability” features that make it ideal for performing the processing required to deploy this new type of memory. Thanks to Kalray’s solution, data centers can take full advantage of the price and capacity advantages of these new QLC flash memories without impacting their performance and durability and without modifying existing software. The gain in terms of cost of the total solution is nearly 30%.

This is the second consecutive award Kalray has received from the Flash Memory Summit, this time in the “DPU processors” category, following the most innovative technology award with the Kalray Flashbox™ last year.
