Kanye West has hired a new lawyer just before his divorce hearing from Kim Kardashian. The rapper also advanced some bizarre objections to avoid the divorce.
Sources at TMZ claim that Kanye West, 44, recently fired Chris Melcher, his lawyer. These same sources speak ofmiscommunication between West and Melcher. Which made the collaboration particularly difficult. Currently, she is the lawyer Samantha Spector who portrays Kanye West, recently renamed Ye, in her divorce from Kim Kardashian, 41. Note that Samantha Spector has also represented Nicole Young during her divorce from Dr Dre. In addition, the latter was represented by Laura Wasser. Once again, the divorce between Kim and Kanye will therefore be a battle between Spector and Wasser.
Samantha Spector is the 5th attorney which Kanye West appealed since the star’s divorce filing KUWTK in February 2021. Remember that The divorce hearing is scheduled for March 2.. According to TMZit is unlikely that Kanye West will attend this hearing in person.
Kanye West makes bizarre and insane objections
It’s clear that Kanye West is against his divorce from Kim Kardashian. Moreover, his lawyers raised some weird questions about their prenup. Basically, the rapper’s lawyers have filed documents for invalidate the marriage contract. However, American law says that a “marriage contract is presumed invalid IF one of the parties who signed it contests its validity“. However, Kanye West did not dispute its validity at the time. So, why now ?
Also, to invalidate the marriage contract, Kanye West will have to prove thatit was not entered into voluntarily. However, the 44-year-old rapper had been represented by a lawyer at the signing of the marriage. Not to mention the fact that Kanye West, aka Ye, made his fortune during the marriage when he kept all his money for himself. Which contradicts the abusive character that the ex of Kim Kardashian wants to demonstrate.
