Kanye West, headliner of the Coachella festival in 2022?

Kanye West could well be one of the headliners of the Coachella 2022 festival.

Canceled in 2020 and postponed several times in 2021 to finally never take place, the Coachella festival should normally be held over two weekends next April. Despite the fear of a new postponement due to the health crisis and the spread of the Omicron variant, Variety magazine understands that Kanye West, but also artist Billie Eilish, could well be the new stars of this edition.

According to several sources, the two artists could indeed be scheduled, said the magazine, specifying that neither of the two performers had however responded to their request. For now, only the Swedish house of mafia group has confirmed, last October, its coming to the 2022 edition.

A new program in perspective

The programming cards announced for 2020 therefore seem to be reshuffled. At the time, Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean were expected to star at North America’s biggest festival, which is normally held annually in Indio, in the California desert.

If the arrival of Kanye West is confirmed, the rapper will then perform for the second time in his career at Coachella. In 2011, Ye had indeed delivered a great concert there. At the time, the star had just released her fifth album: “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”. While his tenth opus “Donda” was released last August, the coming of Kanye West to Coachella could well have meaning for the artist. Case to follow.

For now, the festival is scheduled for the weekends of April 15 to 17 and April 22 to 24, 2022.
