Kanye West doesn’t have to go to court. After an allegation of bodily harm, it is now clear that no lawsuit will be brought against the rapper.

After being charged with assault in January 2022, Kanye West (45) got off lightly again. No charges will be brought against the rapper, who is said to have hit a fan. The Los Angeles Attorney’s Office did the US gossip portal “TMZ” confirmed.

“After a thorough and careful review of all the evidence, our office declines to prosecute as there is not a reasonable likelihood of conviction,” the statement said.

What happened in January?

Earlier this year it was reported that Kim Kardashian’s (41) ex-husband allegedly attacked a fan in downtown Los Angeles after they asked the rapper for an autograph. Released video footage showed an upset West, who appeared to be offended. The police then investigated the musician for assault. There was no arrest at the scene.

Not the first violent conflict with Kanye West

It’s not the first time West has had run-ins with authorities over assault. In March 2014, he pleaded guilty to assaulting a photographer at Los Angeles Airport. He tried to snatch the camera from the man’s hand and was sentenced to a suspended sentence, 24 sessions of anti-aggression training and 250 hours of community service. Compensation was also due for the victim.

Beverly Hills police are also investigating an incident in January 2014. West was accused of assaulting a man in a chiropractor’s office. It was agreed on a payment, the alleged victim then waived a lawsuit.
