Karlie Kloss dedicates herself to a topic that is very close to her heart. In a video talk with other survivors, she talks about her mother, who once beat breast cancer – and becomes emotional.

Even many years later it works Karlie Kloss, 31, is obviously still very close to the topic. Her mother, Tracy Kloss, once battled breast cancer and was fortunately able to beat it. Now the model is supporting the Bobbie Initiative, which helps mothers affected by breast cancer with baby food. In a clip that can be seen on the organization’s Instagram account, she exchanges ideas with affected women.

Karlie Kloss can’t hold back her tears

“My mother was 35 years old when she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer,” says the 31-year-old through tears. “I carry your strength and your strength with me.” She repeatedly dabs her eyes and nose with a tissue.

She speaks to other mothers who have survived the disease and applied to the Bobbie Breasties Initiative and asks them to share their own experiences. “I had the wonderful opportunity to read some of your application stories,” said the mother of two children in an interview. “That’s why I want to talk to some of you and let you tell some of your stories yourself. Karlie then comments on the video with the words: “Thank you for inviting me to be part of this community.”

Karlie Kloss is committed to raising awareness about breast cancer

The supermodel has been campaigning for breast cancer awareness for several years. “Female breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world. My mother was diagnosed with this 25 years ago. Not a day goes by that my family and I are not deeply grateful for my mother’s continued health and the work of the countless brilliant Minds working in breast cancer research,” she wrote in 2021 during Breast Cancer Month.

In a 2017 issue of InStyle, she explained how much she admired her mother for how she fought the disease and survived. “She battled really aggressive breast cancer when my three sisters and I were young. She barely survived. I idolized her from a young age. She’s so strong,” she explained. Karlie herself has been undergoing mammograms regularly since she was 25 years old.
