Well damaged by the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and by a tarnished image, the Russian firm Kaspersky hopes to recover its health.

With a complete overhaul of its product line and its brand image, the company specializing in cybersecurity does not intend to spoil its twenty-fifth anniversary.

A decisive quarter century for Kaspersky

Already accused for a long time of serving the interests of Moscow, to the point that Germany advised to ban its security solutions last March, the Russian cybersecurity giant is bouncing back by completely overhauling its product range. With the implementation of a standard subscription system, in line with an increasingly widespread practice on the market, Kaspersky now offers three levels of protection with four pillars (identity, performance, security and privacy).

Don’t worry if you are still with Kaspersky, not only does the firm not intend to let you down, but you can upgrade your current protection to its 2.0 equivalent for free. For example, Kaspersky Internet Security gives way to standard Kaspersky. This version contains the essentials of the firm, in particular to improve the performance of your machine or to take advantage of complete protection against viruses, including phishing.

The second level, Kaspersky Plus, also gives you the benefit of several tools dedicated to the protection of privacy, including a VPN offering a thousand servers in 80 countries. Finally, Kaspersky Total Security is replaced by Kaspersky Premium. So you can protect up to five devices simultaneously, with cross-platform coverage for computers running macOS and Windows as well as smartphones running Android and iOS.

An ever more intuitive interface for a quick start

In its press release, Kaspersky announces that it wants to make its customers ” pilots “at the wheel of a” Formula 1 of cybersecurity by offering good antivirus protection that is also very accessible.

In this perspective, Kaspersky is also focusing its redesign on an interface that is easy to handle even for those who do not have brilliant computer skills. The four axes of protection offered by the firm are clearly distinguished in the renewed offer and it is counting on a new graphic charter to bring about this change, abandoning its traditional green bear in passing. Will this be enough to prevent Kaspersky from being still and always associated with the Kremlin?

Kaspersky Total Security 2022

  • Always formidable efficiency
  • Very good banking and ransomware protection
  • Imperceptible impact on performance

Kaspersky Total Security remains on a model of iterative evolutions and like BitDefender, it is rather in a period of stagnation at the level of the functionalities and the interface. Like its competitor, it nevertheless has an undeniably solid base, and all the lights are green: relevance and effectiveness of the protection features, limited impact on Windows performance and an interface that is certainly unchanged but overall very pleasant despite a few minor problems. hierarchy of functionalities which would benefit from being reviewed.
